- About our family:
- Nicole and i met in a flamenco guitar class at Santa Monica college. We shared a music stand and realized we lived right next to each other. Since we both hate to drive, we started to carpool and BAM!, within a month we were living together. That was in 2002.

- it's too long, so we made it a blog entry!
- What I love about pregnancy:
- Let's see...the nausea? the insomnia? the strange people touching my belly? Seriously, for all its challenges, pregnancy has been amazing. It has defied most of my expectations except that of being a powerful, transformational experience. I love seeing my whole identity shift into motherhood. I feel like I play a vital role in the universe, bringing this new life into the world. It's amazing!!
- Advice for new parents:
- Advice for newly pregnant moms - take all the advice and information from everyone around you with a BIG grain of salt. Pay attention to how you feel and what your intuition tells you. Everyone wants to offer their opinion (and with such authority!) about what you are going through, and the truth is that the experience of pregnancy is just so individual and can be very unpredictable. Pregnancy, maybe as a preparation for childbirth, seems to be one big lesson in opening and letting go. Trust and go with the flow!

Nicole & Jeff Birth Story!
Nicole began having contractions on Friday, June 15th. They weren’t incredibly intense and were spaced far apart, so she didn’t feel the need to wake me until the next morning. The contractions built slowly and came at random intervals throughout the day into the early afternoon, so we
spent the time growing excited and wondering if “this was it”. Just in case, I
grabbed my notes from the childbirth class and began cramming.

8th month
This week we approach the 8 month mark. What a journey it has been! Everyone says it has flown by except me (Nicole). In the first few months, I for
the most part felt tortured by pregnancy. I was so consistently
nauseaus, that time seemed to move painfully slowly. It was definitely
the most physically challenging time of my life...so far. Since then,
I've been savoring each moment of pregnancy. Certainly it still has its
